Keegan Kendrick

Bio

Keegan Kendrick has served as the head football coach at Bullitt East since 2022, leading the Chargers to a 36-14 record through his first four seasons. His tenure has been highlighted by the 2022 Class 6A State Championship—the first football state championship in school history—along with continued postseason appearances and the development of numerous athletes who have gone on to play college football.

Kendrick is a graduate of Boyle County High School, where he played offensive line, linebacker and defensive line and was a member of two state championship teams. He continued his playing career on the defensive line at Lindsey Wilson College, helping the program capture its first conference championship and make three national playoff appearances. Kendrick earned his degree in History and Social Sciences from Lindsey Wilson.

Kendrick began his coaching career at Southwestern High School in 2017. During two seasons with the Warriors, he coached running backs, offensive line and linebackers before adding head strength and conditioning coach responsibilities in his second year.

In 2019, Kendrick joined Ethan Atchley’s staff at Bullitt East as offensive line coach, run game coordinator and JV offensive coordinator. After two seasons, he was promoted to varsity offensive coordinator in 2021 before being named the Chargers’ head coach in January 2022.

In his first season as head coach, Kendrick led Bullitt East to a historic 14-1 campaign and the program’s first Class 6A district, regional and state championships. The Chargers defeated Male 28-27 in the state championship game to complete the best season in program history. Six members of the senior class signed to play college football, including two Division I, two Division II and two NAIA athletes.

Kendrick followed the championship season with a 9-3 record in 2023, keeping Bullitt East among Kentucky’s top Class 6A programs. The Chargers finished the regular season with a top-10 RPI and again placed numerous players on the all-district team. The senior class continued the program’s college-football pipeline, highlighted by Isaiah Hare signing with Division I Eastern Illinois and Kayden Jenkins continuing his career at Rose-Hulman.

In 2024, Bullitt East opened the season 4-0 and finished 6-5 while earning another Class 6A playoff appearance. The season marked a third consecutive winning campaign under Kendrick and continued the program’s emphasis on developing players beyond high school. Senior Caden Bostock signed with Centre College to continue his football career.

In 2025, Kendrick guided the Chargers to a 7-5 record, a 2-1 mark in Class 6A District 4 and another postseason appearance. Bullitt East defeated North Hardin 28-21 in the opening round to advance to the second round of the Class 6A playoffs. The senior class again produced multiple college football players, including Garrett Courtney (Campbellsville University), Brody Harris and Dayton Kron (Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College), Adam Marcum (Georgetown College) and Connor Heun (Southeast Missouri State University).

Through four seasons as head coach, Kendrick has helped establish Bullitt East as a consistent Class 6A program while maintaining an emphasis on player development. His first four teams produced four winning seasons, four playoff appearances, a 36-14 overall record and the 2022 Class 6A State Championship, while continuing to send Chargers on to play football at the collegiate level.
